What's Inside the Relax blend?
Many people smoke weed to unwind. Certain strains of cannabis can be especially helpful for relaxation. There are lots of resources available to help people find the strain that’s right for them, but typically an indica strain with a good amount of CBD will help most people sink into a relaxed state.
When we were developing our signature herbal blends, a beautiful Relax blend was one of our first priorities. We knew it had to be mellow and soothing and wanted to optimize all the best relaxation aids in our herbal arsenal.

Herb Spotlight: Relax Blend
Catnip (nepeta cataria) isn’t just nice for kitties. Early evidence of its use for humans includes a mention in an 11th century herbal manual as a remedy for restlessness, nervousness, and for promoting restful sleep. Cats love it for its compound nepetalactone which, when it comes into contact with their nasal passage, causes them to act like they’re in heat. Humans don’t react that way, and instead can enjoy mild feelings of sedation.
Hops (humulus lupulu) are best known for being used to flavour beer. But did you know that this delicate flowering plant is in the same plant family as cannabis? They share some genetic properties as well as some terpenes. Though hops don’t have psychoactive properties like their cousin, they can help optimize the sedative effects of cannabis. Plus they lend a beautiful citrus flavour and aroma to the blend.
Chamomile (matricaria recutita) was used by ancient Egyptians as medicine and an offering to their gods. Around the world, it’s been used extensively in folk medicinal traditions as a soother of the nervous and digestive systems. We love having the beautiful whole dried yellow buds in our blend for their mellow flower power.
Skullcap (scutellaria laterifolia) is a member of the mint family. It has a spooky sounding name but is actually a comforting herb that is best-known for its nerve-calming powers. Historically, skullcap was the go-to herb for treating anxiety and nervous tension. Herbalists today love it for its ability to promote healthy sleep.
Mugwort (artemisia vulgaris) is a subtle and sweet smelling herb also known as ‘dream weed’ for its ability to promote lucid dreaming. It’s great for digestive stimulation and easing tension and its smoke is sometimes used in traditional Chinese Medicine as an alternative to needling acupuncture points. It has been used as an incense and smoking herb for centuries and used to be smoked by sailors as an alternative to tobacco (so much that one of its other nicknames is ‘sailor’s tobacco’).
Marshmallow (althaea officinalis) is soft and velvety and has been used for thousands of years for its anti-inflammatory and emollient properties. Used by herbalists today for soothing irritated tissues, marshmallow was also used as a key ingredient in the beloved puffy treats that now bear its name.
